On a sunny September weekend I had the pleasure of running a low waste, kids paper-hat making workshop at Forwards Festival!
I love everything about this festival, not only because it’s local to me but it aims to present high quality, diverse and heritage music acts alongside emerging artists from Bristol & beyond. It also looks to challenge what metropolitan festivals can be today and how they can do good, from the inside out.
My workshop was based in the family area in a bustling craft tent which we shared with Lets Make Art! Big thanks to @jessknights_creative, @megan_milaartt and @mikefoyledrone for assisting with the workshop!
All of the creations were themed on pollination so there were lots of paper bee’s, bats, flowers, moths and birds floating around the festival grounds!
This was a low waste workshop so G.F Smith papers and Children’s Scrapstore supplied all of the surplus paper stock and we encouraged participants to use paper offcuts to make and decorate their hats.
I also was very grateful to @bristolcouncil @nationalhways for providing the electric vehicle which got us to and from the festival as part of the 8 week free electric vehicle trial 💚
