I was thrilled to be invited to run a workshop for some fabulous year eight students at Parkstone Grammar School this week!
As a guest speaker and workshop leader for their technology day, I briefly introduced over 170 very enthusiastic young artists to the exciting and vibrant world of paper-cut illustration, talking about the industry and showcasing some examples of the kind of work that I do. The rest of the day was split into three workshops which were attended by the students.
Their task was to collaborate with each other to create their very own ‘Paper Dorset!’. Each group was given an information pack about a landmark or building which they had to make out of paper. At the end of the day each of the pieces were integrated into the final composition to create a wonderful and unique paper sculpture!
The project was inspired by my ‘Paper London’ piece.
