Pop-up book

Paper Italian Villa for editorial paper sculpture illustration

This editorial piece was commissioned by Wall Street Journal to supplement an article about a pop-up hotel. 700,000 Hours is a members-only pop up experience that moves every six months to destinations as diverse as Iran, Japan, Jamaica, Cambodia, Denmark and Northern Brazil.

The brief was to create a paper pop-up Italian villa with a courtyard with a few lights to depict an evening scene.

Lights were added behind the building in the physical scene, thin paper was used on some of the windows which helped to give a nice diffused glow.
